I've fallen for a guy again.
But... it's okay.
His name is Tayten and he plays the snare drum.
It started out with me teasing him, trying to touch his drum and him hitting me (ow!) with his drumsticks. When I sat behind him on the band trip, he would play along with my comments and talk to me a little. It didn't go much more than that.
Then, Friday, after a homecoming event, I tried touching his drum and he grabbed my arm. I stole his sunglasses from the side pocket and he grabbed my arm again and beat me (it sounds really bad but it's not) with his drumsticks. We start walking back to the music building and I say something about being hungry. He says he's hungry too and I say, "Well what about B-Dubs (Buffalo Wild Wings)?" He fucking agrees
and we set off (after he drops me off at my dorm so I can get money).
The "thing" (I don't know what to call it) went beautifully with one hiccup. I learned a lot about him, which is a lot to take in. He's so so smart, he wants a doctorate in music, and wants to write music for movies and video games. His parents own a western clothing store he hates to work at because it's usually dead. He LOVES movies and calls himself a Cinefile (Cinema-file). I feel so out of the loop with the amount of movies he's seen.
The hiccup was me gagging. Something I do when I get nervous/excited. That plus food was not good. I was so embarrassed, but he was so sweet and turned it around. He said he spaces out too, and when I tried to correct him, he wouldn't hear it, but asked why it happened, not what it was. After that we swapped weird things about ourselves, like me being slightly ambidextrous (write with my right hand, left with everything else), and the bald spots (I told him I thought they were scars and he laughed) over his eyebrows. He paid, not even looking at me with my money.
He drove me back to my dorm, and thanked me for coming out with him (even if I initiated it...) and I said we should do it again, he agreed. I should have done something else, but it was late and I was still embarrassed.
The next day, Homecoming, before the parade I saw Tayten with the percussion. He would play his sets and look around during a break, then go back to playing. When I got into the parade block and caught his eye he smiled and waved. We also did this thing we do by me nodding and him shaking his head, but he mimicked me for a split second before shaking his head grinning.
I didn't see him (besides marching behind him) until the game (and screaming at him through a car window as I went to eat. Details though.) where we walked to the free hotdog dinner the baptist ministry was serving to the band. We sat in the grass (we weren't hungry since we ate before) and I kept poking him with miscellaneous twigs. He would take them from my hands and throw the twigs away. I resorted to giving him grass and this one clover I found.
I was picking at grass when he puts the clover behind my ear and starts singing "I'm Looking Over a [Three] Leaf Clover".
I'm so head over heels. And I still don't have his number. Damn it.
And my roommate snapchatted us to me:
Look at that goddamn height difference though...
